In 1962, at age 11, waterskier Liz Allen Reid won the slalom event at the U.S. nationals. She would go on to place in the top three of every U.S. National Championship in at least three events (most often all four) from 1962-1974. In the 1969 World Championships she won every event: Slalom, Tricks, Jumping and Overall. Six years later she won three of the four events at the 1975 World Championships. In 1992 she was inducted into the International Water Ski Hall of Fame.
